With one of the largest number of collections from contemporary photojournalists, the Briscoe Center's photojournalism holdings sit at the intersection of two of the Center's most important—and rapidly growing—collection strengths: the news media archives and photographic materials. Situated in the context of the Center's other archival holdings (including the personal papers of media industry pioneers, research archives, and newspapers), the Briscoe Center provides researchers with unparalleled resources on of the history of photojournalism.

The center has gathered the archives of over thirty nationally recognized photographers, including three Pulitzer Prize winners: Eddie Adams, David Hume Kennerly, and Lucian Perkins. All have photographed significant events in American history, including every presidential administration from Franklin D. Roosevelt to Barack Obama. These extensive photojournalism collections document key national and international newsmakers and events and include work published in Time, Life, Newsweek, U.S. News and World Report, tan Light Mantaray buckle bag cross body Vanity Fair, the New York Times, and the Washington Post. In addition to published prints, the center collects unpublished photographic material such as slides, negatives, and contact sheets, as well as nonphotographic materials like letters, diaries, tear sheets, and three-dimensional artifacts. The combination of these materials provides researchers with remarkable primary source evidence for interpreting history.
